Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Convergence ("Convergence", "we", "us", "our") is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how to access or correct it, and how to make a complaint. By using Convergence you agree to this policy.

1.Who we are

Convergence is a private library for the prompts you use across AI tools. The service is provided by Better People, an entity incorporated in Australia. You can contact us at hello@betterpeople.com.au.

2.What personal information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service and improve it.

  • Account information. Your email address and a password hash, which together let you sign in.
  • Profile information you choose to provide. Display name, profile photo, default tool, theme and density preferences.
  • Content you create. Prompts you save - title, description, steps, tags, the AI tool the prompt is for, and metadata such as star and copy counts. You decide what goes in.
  • Usage information. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) collected by our hosting provider for security, reliability and abuse prevention.
  • Device and cookie information. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and local-storage values that remember your UI preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) such as health, racial, religious, political or biometric data. Please don't put sensitive information into prompts.

3.How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, save a prompt, change a setting, or contact us. We collect technical information automatically when your browser interacts with our servers. We do not buy personal information from third parties.

4.Why we collect it - purposes of use

  • To provide the core service - authenticating you, saving and serving your prompts, syncing your settings.
  • To keep the service secure - detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or misuse.
  • To respond to support requests and other communications you initiate.
  • To send essential service notices (for example, security or account messages). We do not send marketing without consent.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including under the Privacy Act and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

We do not use your prompts to train AI models - neither our own nor anyone else's. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

5.Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that make Convergence work, and only to the extent needed for them to perform their function.

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS). We use AWS to host the application, store your prompts (Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon S3), authenticate you (Amazon Cognito), and run server functions (AWS Lambda). Data is stored in AWS regions we select for residency and latency.
  • Anthropic. The "Coach" and prompt-category features call Anthropic's Claude model via Amazon Bedrock. Anthropic does not train on data submitted via the Bedrock API (see Anthropic's commercial terms). Data is processed in transit and is not retained for model training.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia (commonly in the United States). By using Convergence you consent to your information being stored and processed in those countries, which may have privacy laws that differ from those in Australia. We take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs.

We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so - for example, in response to a valid court order or to comply with a regulatory request. We will tell you about a disclosure where we are lawfully able to.

6.How we store and secure it

Personal information is held electronically on infrastructure operated by AWS. We rely on industry-standard controls, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest (server-side AWS-managed keys), per-user access controls, and role-based permissions for our team.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7.How long we keep it

We keep your account and prompt data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your prompts, settings and profile data are deleted from primary storage within a reasonable period. Encrypted backups may retain copies for up to 30 days before being rotated out, after which they are no longer recoverable.

8.Your rights - access, correction and deletion

Under APP 12 and APP 13 you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading.

  • You can read, edit and delete your prompts directly inside the app at any time.
  • You can update your profile and preferences in Settings.
  • To export all your data, or to delete your account entirely, email hello@betterpeople.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

There is no charge for accessing your information. We will not refuse a reasonable request unless we are required or permitted to do so by law, and we will tell you why.

9.Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and local-storage values:

  • An authentication session cookie set by Amazon Cognito.
  • Local-storage entries that remember your theme, accent, density and last-used tool.

We do not use third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies that share data with third parties.

10.Children

Convergence is not intended for people under 16. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without verifiable parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email before they take effect.

12.How to complain

If you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us first at hello@betterpeople.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:

  • Online: www.oaic.gov.au
  • Phone: 1300 363 992
  • Post: GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001
